Memphis Challenge

Our 14s-1 competed in the Premier division of the Memphis Challenge. They won some and lost some, but ended up losing in a game in their Gold bracket Sunday. Congrats to the team for a great effort in the first tournament of the season that was made a little whacky because of so many CoVid regulations.

The 15s-1, 16s-1, and 18s teams, all competed well in their divisions.

Thanks to the parents of Dori Jones for sharing photography they ordered below for the club from the event- awesome photos by Michelle Evans!

Great starts to the season: 16s win Gold at Legacy Classic

Our season is off to a great start with the couple of playdates we’ve had and the first tournament. Congrats to our 16s-1 team for winning Gold!

Other teams did well, too. 14s-1 and 15s-1 both competed in their gold brackets, and all other teams showed good promise for the season ahead. Good job, Premier!

Congrats, Rachel!

Rachel Brown, former Premier GVC player and coach, accepted a scholarship offer to play for the Dakota College at Bottineau (#DCBJACKS), and we couldn’t be more excited for her! Look for her team info and games thru Facebook and on other media (link on the team website) this upcoming season. Stay warm, Rachel!

Helping at new Shelby County Schools Sports & Awareness Volleyball Camp

A couple of our own Premier coaches helped out at the volleyball camp held last week at White Station High School for all Shelby County Schools students who were interested.

Way to go, Coach Bell and Coach Alena. Both tackled a gym full of about 250 girls, all ready to learn.

Jackson Casey Jones Tournament Day 3/23

All teams did well and/or showed improvement.

12s won a game and started strong, and fought hard all day.

13s came in 2nd in the gold bracket in their division.

14s Elite took home gold for their division, for the second time this season! Congrats to all the hard work there!

14s-2 won 2 games and only lost 2 games, a nice showing.

16s played hard and had a good attitude all day.

18s played hard, had an interesting day with other teams R2s, and placed in the silver bracket.

It was a great day for Premier all around.  Thanks, everyone!

13s and 14s Elite at the Memphis Challenge

After great teamwork on the first day of the Memphis Challenge, both teams were ready to compete in brackets on the Sunday.  The 13s played in the gold bracket and 14s Elite played in the power league level and started out in the top place in the silver bracket.  Both teams played well, but ultimately didn’t place in the top 3 of their brackets.  Still, it was a great weekend of play and show of skill from these two Premier GVC teams.

14s Elite wins Gold at Jonesboro Icebreaker

Congrats to our 14s Elite team!!!

These ladies and their coach fought hard all day, earlier and later than everyone else, to earn their place in their age division.  With so few errors and such great attitudes and teamwork, they made it look quite easy, even against the good teams they played.

Other teams had great runs all day, and some most likely would have placed had it not been for the weather escorting them home to Memphis early.

Congrats to all for a first successful tournament of the season, and good luck on the rest of their tournaments! Premier GVC is off to a great start!
